Shelley retired from the Portsmouth Public Library, after forty years of service. She began storytelling as part of the Children's Department storytimes. She has been telling tales for over thirty years, and is a member of LANES - the League for the Advancement of New England Storytellers. Her greatest influence was Jackie Torrence, The Story Lady.
She is one of the core founders of The Seacoast Storytellers Guild. The guild is still active. Her stories are for ages four to adult. She has told at day care centers, nursing homes, libraries, and college dorms. She has also done private and company parties. Scary stories and those with women and children as heroes, are her favorites. Shelley and her husband Dick are also available for Christmas parties as Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Stories, songs, a Christmas craft, and photos with your children are included in the program.
