New Hampshire native, Debra Ballou, storyteller, writer, and environmental educator, tells cultural and natural history stories including: folk tales, fairy tales, original tales, personal stories, poems, and stories from indigenous tribes of North America. Some stories include audience participation, musical instruments, and singing. With twenty years of experience, Debra performs and conducts workshops in retirement communities, classrooms, nature centers, libraries, museums, restaurants, and special events. She has performed on college and community radio programs.
Debra, a member of LANES, League for the Advancement of New England Storytelling, served on their Board of Directors for a total of five years, one year as President, and two years as Treasurer. She is currently facilitator and coordinator of the Seacoast Storytellers Guild which meets at the Portsmouth Public Library in Portsmouth, NH. Debra is also a member of and volunteers for, New Hampshire Storytelling Alliance, a non-profit group that organizes and conducts storytelling events around New Hampshire.
